UCG’s victory over Portumna was the only game to finish last weekend. Two others were postponed and the Sligo and Monivea fixture is to be replayed after an injury forced it to be abandoned with Sligo leading.
Gort v Sligo 2nds (Saturday 2:30)
Game of the weekend, Gort are on some run of late and will want revenge for an early season heavy loss away to the north westerners. Sligo are back on track but their good display against Monivea was to no avail as the game was called off early. They will be well aware that an away win of this stature could transform their season. Should be a good buzz in St Colman’s Park on Saturday.

Connemara v Portumna
Two side’s in bad need of a boost. Connemara are hopefully that there injuries are clearing up at senior level so that might free up some power for this. Portumna make what must be one of the longest one county trips in the land still searching for a first win.

Monivea 2 v Galwegians 3rds
A disappointing performance in Sligo last week doesn’t have to be a disaster for Monivea’s title hopes but an improving Galwegians arrive with hopes of staying with the leaders and full aware that a win is a must. It could be close but a home win for us.

UCG v Carrick on Shannon
Straight forward one here, UCG ran up a good score in their win away to Portumna and should keep the momentum through the Christmas break with another win here against the struggling Leitrim side.
