Tullow are South East Cup Champions after Saturday evenings impressive win against Enniscorthy in wintry conditions at County Carlow RFC.
The Division 1b league leaders made a significant statement with this win and will march into the new year intent on cementing the promotion spot to the top flight and kicking off another bid for Towns Cup success.

Great win for Tullow, Enniscorthy missing key people in the pack but credit where its due, the coach, players and Sean O’Brien have changed the tide in Carlow rugby with Tullow becoming a more consistent outfit, am I right in saying they remain the only team unbeaten in every competition they’ve played in. Tough feat, as a Co. Carlow man all I can say is well done.
all ive heard all season is how many key players enniscorthy are missing! sure every team has lost players so far this season to injury etc. time for them to just shut up, stop whinging and get on with it. maybe they just arent quite as good as they think they are after being built up to the last at the start of the season!
well done to tullow, they will be very hard beaten in 2013 and will fancy turning over any of the rest of the 1a teams if they get a home draw in the Towns Cup.
I’m definately a Carlow man, coach in Dublin but very impressed with the rugby they’re playing and even though they had the ability to turn over one or two of the 1A teams I think now the have the structure and players to achieve big things, the college in Carlow is a good recruitment area with the likes of Sean O’Brien making personal calls too a few players I can only see them improving, if they learn from the mistakes that Carlow made they might go places. Enniscorthy are a great club, good coach but they do have injuries, ever team gets them but when several of your regular forwards get injured course its going to get tough.
He’s a Carlow supporter not an Enniscorthy one…
