AIL Round Robin Fixtures

Richmond Monivea

The Round Robin fixtures for this season have been confirmed with the four team three round tournament kicking off on March 23rd and just one place left to fill.

While it will take a highly unlikely scenario for Portadown to be caught in Ulster, they still have a little bit more work to do to seal the title, Tullamore, Monivea and Richmond on the other hand have all secured their places.

Monivea and Richmond are very expierenced in this competition as (to a lesser extent) are Portadown while Tullamore are very much the newbies having one their first Leinster league title this season.

That said, their form this season, the success of Leinster side’s in the past four seasons and the Offaly clubs back to back All Ireland Cup titles makes them firm favourites to take the automatic promotion spot.

Skerries won last year’s qualifiers, Monivea finished second and lost to Ards in play off.

It’s a real shame that the irfu didnt schedule the portadown vs tullamore match for the last day as this will decide 1st and 2nd place. Richmond will trouble neither side, and as for Monivea they might as well give up now. The only certainty for monivea is that they are not guaranteed to win connacht next year with connemare coming down.

For what it’s worth i think Portadown will shade Tullamore but Tullamore will win in the playoff match so both teams will go senior.

Who are you to tell any team to give up seems to me ya might be jealous of monas success in recent years for a club to lose between 5and 10 first team players to migration since 2008 and still be at the top is some achievement into now you with ur useless info

What will Tullamore do against Wicklow on March 17th. The six day turnaround will not do them any favours after what is likely to be a very physical game v Wicklow. Will they rest a few and keep them on the bench just in case? Or will they try to blow Wicklow out of the water early and give the big guns a rest in the second half? Either way it should be fascinating. I’d imagine Tullamore won’t take too many risks ahead of what is their toughest round robin game the following Saturday .
