Knockon.ie is a grassroots rugby website focused on building an online community of rugby enthusiasts where every nook and cranny of the game is covered in detail, from both a neutral and an informed standpoint.
The motivation behind the site is built on two pillars. The first is to provide the amateur game with a home where the profile can be increased and the commitment and endeavour of players, coaches and club members recognised.
The second is to provide a sports website where potential sports writers young and old (pursuing a hobby or a career) can get an opportunity to write about sport to an engaged and enthusiastic audience and have their work noticed and appreciated at a time when journalism is under the same pressures and strains as many other trades.
We began life in 2007 as a rugby blog for the west of Ireland and by 2011, the success of our community rugby coverage in that market inspired us to take the project national.
We are always open to new writers, photographers or people interested in all areas of sports media getting involved with the site, simply give us a call and we’ll tell you how we can help.
